Abernethy and Aviemore Beats

The farmers’ prayers were answered this week with the long awaited rain, but it did little to help our river and it only rose one inch. However we did see an influx of grilse in the first beats at Spey Bay. Hopefully they may make an appearance later this week.

Seatrout for the week totalled 14 with the best at 7lb. In view of the river conditions the suspension of worm fishing is still in force and also catch and release would not go amiss at this difficult time for the fish please.
